Gift Store Of The Year!

WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!

We can’t quite believe that we won this amazing award for the second year running!
But we have!

“A Scents Of Scotland has an eclectic range including handcrafted Celtic jewellery, luxury candles, fine soaps, and even a piece of the stunning Scottish Highlands. Truly one of the best ranges we have seen”.

Here’s what the judges had to say…

“A Scents of Scotland is a family run business offering a premium range of unique Scottish gifts and home fragrances. Their eclectic range includes handcrafted Celtic jewellery, luxury candles, fine soaps, and even a piece of the stunning Scottish Highlands. Truly one of the best ranges we’ve seen.

Through its online platform, A Scents of Scotland ships its products to customers across the UK and internationally too, and has received orders around Europe, the United States, Singapore, South Korea, and Australia. Owed to its growing reputation, the business has been trusted to offer exclusive deals from a collection of Scotland’s most luxurious and highly coveted brands, including The Scottish Fine Soap Company, Heathergems, and
The McKelvie Candle Company.”

“The judges were particularly impressed by the diversity of the range offered in its Kilmarnock store and online.

A Scents of Scotland has a genuine, authentic collection of crafted items which are inspired by the country. The handmade McKelvie candles are designed with personal touches, and create a welcoming atmosphere that evokes nostalgic memories. The business also stocks an impressive range of sgian dubh’s from The Sgian Dubh Company, who have been manufacturing them for over 30 years, as well as a collection of accessories especially suited to traditional Highland dress.”

The judges also asked a question many people have asked us over the years, why did we choose the small housing estate of Bellfield in Kilmarnock as the location of our shop? Bellfield only has around 2000 homes, and at first they were puzzled why we didn’t choose a town centre location.

The answer is a simple one – Stuart, (the boss), remembers fondly when he was a child, the trips “up the street” with his Gran to help with her shopping when he was visiting. She could get anything she wanted and needed, from groceries to gifts and didn’t need to get the bus to town. This is something that unfortunately has been lost in many places, but A Scents Of Scotland wanted to try and bring a bit of it back…

To say we are over the moon is an understatement, and makes us even more excited for what we have to come in the future!

  • Greetings and Congratulations from California! We so enjoyed candles purchased on a trip to Scotland a few years back that we continue to order candles every year for friends and family. Our daughter is hooked as well! We are thrilled at the well deserved recognition for all your hard work and for such beautiful candles (and more!) in your shop. Going to light a Cotter’s Ingle right now and check stock!

cant wait to see you order again! 🙂

  • Well done in winning Gift Shop of the Year. I love your candles, Fingal’s Cave is my favourite – the scent fills the whole room. All the best for the future.
